5th June 2008, and ready to go to the local DVLA to be inspected. By the end of the day, this car was taxed and on the road, although, I had to have an age related plate.
As the time became ever nearer, the 8th June to be exact, this was the date of the first local MG Run, the Arden MG Club, and also my self imposed deadline for my car to be on the road.
I had rang the DVLA on the 2nd of june, asking why it was taking so long to receive my V5 documents, the answer they gave made my heart sink, they had never received my documents!
After the shock! I then sprang into action, straight to my local DVLA office and made a fuss! I was then told, that if I did not want to register the car under its original registration, then I could have an age related plate assigned to the vehicle straight away, after that is, an inspection of the vehicle, and an admin. fee of £55.00, the inspection took around 5 mins. I then received my new registration, and brand new, FREE! TAX disc.
But the fact sill remains, where the hell are my documents! (copies thank Heaven)
21st June, I have just rceived, in the post, a letter from the DVLA, thanking me for my application for the original registration for my car!So this now means, I have two V5 documents and I dare say two Tax discs! not to mention two different registration numbers for one car!
